Our Mission & Vision

Our Mission:

We strive to Follow Jesus Christ as We:

  • Walk in His Way
  • Unite in His Truth
  • Share His Life

This Mission is rooted in Jesus’ most basic commands, which give shape to our ministry activities:

After calling people to repent and believe in Him, Jesus’ first command to new believers was to “Follow Me” (Mark 1:17).

  • Ministry of Discipleship: Following Jesus

To summarize all of His teaching, Jesus’ stated that God’s greatest command was to “Love the Lord with all your heart…and…love your neighbor as yourself” (Luke 10:27)

  • Ministry of Worship: Walk in His Way

Shortly before Jesus went to die sacrificially on the cross, Jesus gave His followers a new command: “As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” (John 13:34-35)

  • Ministry of Fellowship: Unite in His Truth

Finally, before He ascended to heaven, Jesus left His disciples with a final, Great Commission: All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20).

  • Ministry of Outreach: Share His Life

Our Vision:

As followers of Jesus, we envision being:

  • A diverse, loving, growing family
  • Of active participants in Christ’s body
  • Who are known to be a light in the community

This Vision is rooted in New Testament portrayals of the church, and gives shape to our ministry values:

In Acts 1-2, the early church is called together as familya diverse, loving family.  They form “God’s holy nation” (1 Peter 2:9) and a united household of God (Ephesians 2:14-22).

  • We gather in worship on Sundays, to be encouraged for godly living (Hebrews 10:23-25)

bodyIn Acts 3-6, the early church is a group of active participants in Christ’s mission on earth, like parts of His Body that contribute to the good of the whole (1 Corinthians 12:12-28).

  • We grow in fellowship in Life Groups, as we minister to one another (Ephesians 4:11-16)

In Acts 7-8, the early church is scattered to all nations, fulfilling their purpose to be witnesses to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8), and the light of the world (Matthew 5:14-16).

  • We go to outreach in our community and world, explaining our good works with good news! (1 Peter 2:11-12, 3:15)
